A medical professional who applies laboratory methodology to clinical problems. In the case of Dr. Robert Trowe this is to be understood as skin pathology. That is the study of disease processes and how they affect the cells of skin in particular. This branch of histology would be called the study of exogenous disease or disease which has its source outside the body. Those diseases produced by viral or bacterial sources that affect the skin would be known as exogenous diseases.
